Official testerPRODUCT: Orchard Toys Where do I live? (www.orchardtoys.comOrchard Toys Where do I live

DESCRIPTION: A 2-4 player matching game based on animal habitats. Includes 4 x double-sided boards, 24 x animal cards, 4 x explorer cards and an instructions leaflet. Suitable for children aged 3 years upwards.

GOOD POINTS: The Orchard Toys Where do I Live? game is a brilliantly educational tool for young children to not only practise their matching skills, but learn some interesting animal and habitat facts in the process!

The game consists of four wonderfully illustrated and colourful 'lotto' playing boards, each one centred around a different habitat - the rainforest, the ocean, the polar regions and the desert.

On one side of the board is a busy habitat scene, filled with different animals and explorers who all have their own matching square below the scene. On the other side is a summary of fun and interesting animal and habitat facts that your child will love to ask about and discuss either during or after play.

The game also includes a number of separate 'punch-out' animal and explorer cards which match those featured on the habitat boards.

To play, each animal choses a habitat board, and the animal cards are spread out, face down, on the table. The explorer cards are placed face down in a separate group. Players take turns to chose and turn over an animal card.

If the animal is shown on their habitat board, they can taker the card and place it on the matching animal square. If the animal is not featured on their board, it must be shown to the other players and returned to the table (face down).

Once a player has collected all their animals, they must then find their explorer card. The winner is the first player to collect all the matching animal cards and the explorer card on their habitat board.

The game comes in an attractively packaged box with a useful 'educational guide' on the reverse, and the instructions are clear and easy to follow.

In our opinion this is a simple yet effective matching game for pre-schoolers and young children that offers lots of opportunity for learning in a fun way.

BAD POINTS: None, other than there are lots of separate pieces which may be easily lost over time, as with any such game.
