PRODUCT: DadGear Backpack (www.baby-soleil.com)DadGear Backpack

DESCRIPTION: A large heavy duty nylon backpack designed for Mums or Dads to carry all the essential baby gear. Comes in a choice of colours with a baby mat included.

GOOD POINTS: This is a tough well-made bag which is very functional and does not at all look like a changing bag. It is available in a number of pleasant colours and designs, and is a large size to hold everything you need, whether it be for short or long family outings, or for your own personal use. The backpack is very comfortable to wear and has been designed with a man's frame in mind, although the straps are fully adjustable to cater for Mums too. It allows you to be fully hands-free and is ideal for parents who like to hike!

The backpack has a carry handle on top, and an open mesh pocket on each exterior side, and it contains many useful interior storage sections. On the bottom of the front of the bag is a pull-down Velcro flap, which reveals an access window to an integrated refillable plastic baby wipes case. The case has a snap-shut lid, and is ideal for enabling quick and easy access to wipes during feeding and nappy changes. Diagrams are included on how to detach and refill it.

The bag has two main zipped compartments with multiple mesh pockets and sections to store all sorts of essential items and belongings, including also a clip onto which keys can be easily attached and removed. Each of these compartments has two zips to allow easy access to items at the bottom of the section. A fold-up changing pad is included with the bag which fits into the larger of the compartments.

On each side of the backpack are zipped bottle pockets, which are accessed from the exterior of the bag and are large enough to hold two bottles (or containers) each. Each bottle pocket also conceals a very useful pull-out strap with enables the backpack to be hung around the handles of a pushchair/stroller, and fastened back onto D-rings on each side of the bag.

The best feature of the backpack is the 'diaper hammock', a shallow zipped pocket on the top of the bag to store nappies so that they can be accessed easily and quickly whenever you need them.

In all, this is a very functional bag, which has been well thought-out and has some nice design features.

BAD POINTS: There are no insulated bottle pockets, and it is not advisable to overfill the bag if it is attached to the handles of a pushchair or stroller as the weight could cause it to topple over backwards.
