PRODUCT: Usborne - Deadly Animals (www.usborne.com)Deadly Animals

DESCRIPTION: An 80-page illustrated paper back book designed to teach children about some of the most deadly animals in the world. Written by Henry Brook, and illustrated by Staz Johnson and Ian McNee. Suitable for children aged 7 years upwards.

GOOD POINTS: The Deadly Animals book by Usborne is an exciting and educational reference book for school-age children which is perfect for encouraging their interest in animals.

The book gives an excellent overview of many different types of species from across the animal kingdom, whether large or small, and is packed full of facts, diagrams and pictures for your child to digest.

The book is arranged in a series of short chapters, each page detailing a specific 'lethal' animal, or genre of animal. Information is provided on an array of animal behaviours and defence mechanisms, as well as specific examples of human interaction with these deadly animals (including some grisly encounters!). Animals covered include big cats, wolves, snakes, insects and reptiles to name a few.

There are plenty of detailed colour photographs, maps, illustrations and cartoon-style strips to engage children, and each page contains some concise key facts (arranged in boxes) for some quick and easy fact finding.

The book has a contents page as well as a detailed index so that your child can quickly and easily find the animal they want to learn more about.

In our opinion, this is an informative and educational book which is well written, and certainly compulsive reading for any young enquiring mind!

BAD POINTS: None that we could find!
