PRODUCT: Usborne - Get Ready for School Sticker Book ( Get Ready for School

DESCRIPTION: A 96-page paperback sticker-cum-activity book for children starting school, with 32 pages of stickers included. Size of book is 276mm x 216mm. Suitable for children aged 3 years upwards and aimed at the Early Years Foundation Stage.

GOOD POINTS: This is a fantastic book for young girls and boys alike who are about to start school. The book is filled with fun and simple activities involving shapes, colours, numbers and letters which will prepare and introduce your child to a range of early years skills.

All the activities are spread over both single and double pages, and the book starts by introducing your child to ten cute animal friends who feature in the activities throughout. There is also a 'This book belongs to....' page at the very front for your child to fill in which is a nice touch!

The book is divided into four sections - Numbers, Alphabet, First Colours and Shapes - with plenty of sticker-based activities relevant to each section. Wonderful use of bright background colours and illustrations really help to engage young children, and simple instructions are provided to guide parent and child through the activities in an easy-to-follow way.

The activities are varies and allow your child to practise many important early years skills in preparation for school, including ordering and sorting, counting and spelling, matching and pairing, and number, letter, shape and colour recognition.

The book includes thirty-two pages of colourful detailed stickers, which are located at the end of each section and tie in to the different activities. For ease of finding and using, the stickers are grouped under the pages to which they relate.

In our opinion, this is another great addition to the Usborne Books collection and provides a value-for-money, fun and very educational purchase that helps your child to practice and build essential skills and confidence for starting school.

BAD POINTS: Not really a bad point, but there is so much to do in the book that an index might help children to return to pages that they were most interested in.
