Nine screws are included which are required to fasten the various towers, walls and balcony together. A Phillips screwdriver (not included) will be required to do this. Batteries also need to be inserted into the compartment on the underside of the base to enable the main interactive features to work.

GOOD POINTS: One of the latest toys in the Little People range by Fisher-Price is this lovely Disney Princess Palace, packed full of cute interactive features and likely to be of huge appeal to any young Disney Princess fans.

Fisher-Price Little People Disney Princess PalaceThe palace is perfect for toddlers and preschoolers, with complete open access at the back for maximum playability, and is made from a durable plastic that will easily withstand the rigours of child's play. Two well known princess characters are also included, Snow White and Cinderella, with lovely head-to-toe detailing and a chunky shape to make them perfect for little hands to hold and manoeuvre.

The palace is wonderfully 'girlie' in its design with its pink, turquoise and purple colour scheme, and has plenty of 'authentic' features including large pointed turrets, a clock tower, huge arched windows and a grand entrance.

The sculptured detailing on both the interior and exterior of the palace is simply superb, for example the ornate flowery decoration around the window ledges, the wood panelling on the door and the stone wall effects; in addition, the 'guards' inside the entrance, the draped curtain and the patterned flooring.

There is also plenty of sticker detailing adorning the walls, and a separate sheet of colour stickers is included for your child to add even more detail to the various parts of the palace as indicated in the instructions.

The palace is arranged over several floors comprising many play areas, and is kitted out with fitted as well as movable palace furniture. There is a bedroom featuring a beautifully detailed (movable) double bed; a small attic area; a balcony; a dressing room with cute dressing table and mirror; a sitting room with two seat wells designed for the accompanying Princess figures to sit and look out through the window; and a kitchen with fitted counter top and oven. A large separate banquet table and two 'throne' chairs are also included which your child can move around at will.

The interactive features of this palace are endless, for instance, the movable hands on the clock (operated via a star-shaped knob on the back), a sliding elevator on the side of the palace to take the princesses to the balcony, working double entrance doors which play a fanfare every time they are opened, and a cute little pink kettle on the stove which can be pushed down to activate a whistling sound and bird noises.

The main interactive feature is the magnificent pink 'magic dance floor'. The dance floor contains a special location on which to position the Princess figures, and in doing so the palace is able to recognise which Princess it is and 'bring her to life', responding with her name as well as her own special phrases and even a song (note that there is a handy volume control function incorporated into the power switch on the underside of the base). In addition, the dance floor can be rotated back and forth using a fountain level, which also spins the princesses round independently in a dancing action to music.

In our opinion, the Little People Disney Princess Palace is a fun, colourful and incredibly interactive toy for young children, with many wonderful features and accessories offering endless role-play adventures...a toy most definitely fit for any little princess!

BAD POINTS: Only two Princess figures are included, and separate figures are quite pricey to buy. Batteries are not included and must be purchased separately. The elevator is quite stiff to move and may be difficult for a young child to operate on their own. The sticker detailing may fade or wear off over time.
