GOOD POINTS: Den is one of the brilliant new collectible engines in the Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway range from Learning Curve.

Den is aimed at preschool children, and Thomas & Friends fans will recognise him as the Diesel who (sometimes) runs the Diesel Works with his assistant Dart in the 'Day of the Diesels' DVD adventure. He is a wonderful size for small hands to manage, and he has a durable wood body which is ideal for enduring the rigours of child's play.

The engine has an attractive bright orange, white and blue stripe design, with a great quality finish and lovely attention to detail in his facial expression and 'paintwork', including his little 'Diesel Works' emblem, as well as his orange and black hazard stripe on the front.

In addition, Den's rolling wheels make him very manageable for small children to push along, whether on track or floor, and his magnetic links on his front and back ensure he can be connected easily to other engines and carriages from the Thomas Wooden Railway family.

Den is, in our opinion, a great quality wooden train that compliments Dart and the rest of the range very well, and is brilliant for promoting lots of imaginative play and Thomas & Friends adventures.

BAD POINTS: Fairly expensive for one engine.

PRICE: £10
