PRODUCT:  LEGO Pharaoh's Quest Cursed Cobra Statue (http://pharaohsquest.lego.com)LEGO Pharaohs Quest Cursed Cobra Statue

DESCRIPTION:  A 213-piece LEGO construction set in the Pharaoh's Quest range. Features include buildable desert truck, cobra statue and cobra snake with snap-shut jaw, plus golden scarab shield treasure, weapons, cargo, and 3 x minifigures: Jake Raines, Helena Skvalling and mummy snake charmer. Instructions included. Cobra measures 18" (45cm) long, statue measures 5" (12cm) tall, and desert truck measures 4" (10cm) long and 2" (5cm) tall. Suitable for children aged 7 years upwards.

GOOD POINTS:  This is one of six construction kits in the Pharaoh's Quest range by LEGO, and has lots to keep older children, and particularly boys, thoroughly engrossed in its treasure-filled adventures. On this particular quest, adventurers Jake Raines and Helena Tova must race across the desert in their desert truck to take one of the evil Pharaoh Amset-Ra's six treasures and stop him from using their power to conquer the world! In this case the adventurers must seize a Golden Scarab Shield from the Cobra Temple before the mummy snake charmer awakens the cursed cobra statue guarding the treasure!

LEGO Pharaohs Quest Cursed Cobra StatueThe set consists of a generous number of small construction pieces and lots of additional parts, all to the normal high quality LEGO standard, and the accompanying instructions booklet shows your child step-by-step diagrams on assembling the components.

There are several models to construct within this one set. The first is a great little desert truck, complete with big chunky wheels with rubber tyres, four headlights, windshield, and designated places on and within the truck to carry some of the fun little accessories that come with this product, e.g. dynamite, rifle, shovel, shotgun etc. In addition, a small sheet of stickers is included with the set to decorate parts of the truck, including a numberplate and rope detailing.

Other buildable parts include the Cobra Temple, which has great hieroglyphic decorations (stickers) and a place to fasten the precious golden scarab shield onto. In addition, the amazing giant Cobra Statue is great fun to build, and has an wonderful design with gold and blue colour scheme, glossy serpent hood, and fanged mouth which can be snapped shut! The Cobra's ball and socket joint connectors enable its body to be articulated, twisted, and posed, and it can be mounted on (and disconnected from) the back of the Temple.

The minifigures which come with the kit are also great (complete with their own names and stories to complement role play), and have excellent front and back clothes detailing on their torsos. Helena Skvalling comes with a great hair piece, freckles, and tan shoulder bag, while the mummy snake charmer includes an Egyptian headdress and two green rubber snakes which he carries in his hands. In addition, the heads on these two figures are double-faced and can be reversed for different expressions!

In our opinion, this is a wonderfully unique set which has durability, great design, and offers lots of imaginative adventures for kids (and adults) to lose themselves in!

BAD POINTS:  The Cobra's hood is made from a thin glossy plastic which may easily get damaged. Only the boy minifigure can drive in the front of the truck. There are six treasures in the series, but only one per set, so it could become expensive to complete the whole treasure collection!
