PRODUCT: Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Phone (www.fisher-price.com)Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Phone

DESCRIPTION: A plastic toy phone handset with LED display screen, animated images, interactive buttons and three play modes for numbers, letters, and music. Requires 3 x AAA batteries. Suitable for children from 6 months upwards.

GOOD POINTS: This is a very sturdy toy with a fun design and educational features. The phone is basically a large red and white handset with colourful buttons and display screen, and feet that allow it to stand upright. It has a little yellow ariel with smiling face on the top of the phone, and an on/off switch on the side.

The phone has three different play options – letters, numbers and music, and these can be activated by pressing the appropriate mode button underneath the display screen, followed by any of the buttons on the main keypad. The letters mode helps your child to learn the alphabet by displaying and repeating the chosen A–Z letters. The numbers mode encourages counting skills by displaying and repeating the chosen numbers 1-9, while the music mode plays tunes, fun sounds, and lights up the display screen with different patterns. The bottom ‘0’ activates different phrases when pushed.

The volume is set at a safe quiet level, which protects your baby’s ears when they put the phone up to their face. The toy is great for sensory stimulation, cause and effect understanding, and plenty of role-play.

BAD POINTS: It will have limited interest for a 6 month old.

PRICE: Approx. £13
