PRODUCT: Petite Star Traveller Travel Cot (www.petitestar.com)Petite Star Traveller

DESCRIPTION: Full size baby travel cot with mesh sides, for use by a child up to 14kg/30lb and 85cm/33.5” tall. Consists of a lightweight frame, removable mattress and fitted sheet, and holdall for storage. Folds down to 82cm x 25cm x 25cm, and when assembled is 110cm x 77cm x 81cm.

ASSEMBLY: Very easy to put up and take down (can be done in a matter of seconds), and instructions are printed on the inside of the cot – simply open it out in the middle, twist the handle on each of the four sides to lock them in place, and fold the four Velcro pads over the rails to conceal the handles. Once the cot has been dismantled, the mattress wraps around the travel cot and fits neatly into the holdall.

GOOD POINTS: This is a great sized travel cot and bigger than most. It is easy to assemble, has padded rails, and comes with a large storage bag that fastens to the outside of the cot for storing toys and other items. It has a very sturdy feel to it, and is made from hard-wearing nylon on a strong frame, with centre legs for added support. It doubles up as a playpen, for use either at home or on holiday, and the mesh sides allow you to see your child at all times. The holdall has a useful handle to make it easy to carry, and it fits easily into a car boot when folded down.

BAD POINTS: The cot is bulky and fairly heavy to lift. The mattress which comes with the cot is quite thin, and, as with all travel cots, the base is very low which is not ideal for lifting a young baby into and out of all the time. The sensor pads of sound/movement monitors can be positioned under the mattress on the centre legs, although not very securely and the pads can easily slip or trigger the alarm if baby moves to the sides.

PRICE: Can pick one up for about £25
